Over the next six weeks, these ten players, the top earners across all six Masters Tours of 2020, will face off in weekly tournaments to advance to the Season 1 playoffs for their shot at earning an invite to the 2021 World Championship!
AMERICAS
Fled got his start playing Hearthstone in 2015 but began gaining momentum in the competitive scene in the HCT system in 2018. Since the transition to the Hearthstone Masters in 2019, the Brazilian has qualified for nearly every Masters Tour since, placing in the Top 50 during Bucharest and Jönköping. He's already stayed busy in 2021 with a fourth-place finish in the TGS Signature Series, and we're looking forward to his Grandmasters Americas Season 1 debut.
Joshua “Impact” Graham - Mexico
Whether you know him for his innovative deckbuilding or his storied history in competitive Hearthstone, there's one thing for sure – Impact has certainly lived up to his name for the impact he's made on the competitive Hearthstone scene. His consistently high placement in top-tier competition showcases his keen ability to read the game and his opponent with deadly accuracy. Securing his spot as one of the top players in the Americas region, Impact placed in Top 16 for both Masters Tour Arlington and Los Angeles, and Top 70 in Asia-Pacific, and Montreal.
A newcomer to the competitive Hearthstone scene, DreadEye made a name for himself after landing an 8-1 record and a 4th place finish at Masters Tour Montreal last October. His instinctual playstyle led to the impressive Masters Tour record that earned him an invite to become a newly minted Americas Grandmaster in 2021.
Martin “Tincho” Mazza - Argentina
A familiar name in the South American Hearthstone scene for years, Tincho is now realizing his goal of joining Hearthstone Grandmasters. His competitive Hearthstone success ramped up during the HCT days with a fourth-place finish in 2018 during the HCT Americas Fall Playoffs, leading into a 12th place finish overall in the HCT Fall Championship. Tincho brought his in-the-moment playstyle into the Hearthstone Masters Tours starting with Bucharest where he finished in the Top 50. Since then, his consistent placements across the six Masters Tours in 2020 have earned him a spot in the Americas Grandmasters roster this year.
ASIA-PACIFIC
One of the most consistent Hearthstone competitors in Asia-Pacific, GivePLZ reached the top of the 2020 earnings to secure his promotion to this season of Grandmasters. Ahead of last year’s Master Tour Madrid, GivePLZ spoke with Neil “L0rinda” Bond and discussed his rise from a 17-year-old Arena player just starting with Hearthstone in 2016 to a top global player.
Wongyeong “Hi3” Cho – South Korea
Hi3 emerged on the competitive scene during HCT, taking a Top 8 in 2018, at the Tokyo Tour stop. He has consistently been building his success in the Masters Tours series, attending 6 of the tournaments through 2019 and 2020. He cemented a seat as an APAC Grandmasters by taking a Top 8 finish at Masters Tour Madrid.
Wesley “lambyseries” Seek - Singapore
Lambyseries is the first Asia-Pacific Grandmasters representing Singapore. While Hearthstone is not his first professional foray into digital card games, he has achieved new heights in Hearthstone. He first appeared at the end of the HCT program when he qualified for the Asia-Pacific playoffs of 2019. After spending over a year and a half grinding towards his goal of becoming a Grandmaster, lambyseries secured his promotion with a Top 4 finish at last year’s Masters Tour Montreal. Read more on lambyseries from his discussion with L0rinda ahead of last year’s Masters Tour Madrid.
EUROPE
David Neila “Frenetic” Quiñones - Spain
Frenetic is the top Hearthstone player for the famed European soccer club, FC Barcelona. Even before securing his promotion to Grandmasters, he lived up to the high standards of FC Barcelona following his Masters Tour Montreal championship win. Coupled with a Top 16 finish at Masters Tour Jönköping, Frenetic secured his promotion out of the highly competitive European region.
Beginning with two HCT Europe Seasonal Playoffs in 2018, Leta has been making solid performances at Masters Tours, with highlights benign at Top 16 finish at Masters Tour Bucharest, and winning Masters Tour Montreal, where he earned his Grandmasters placement by beating Alutemu in the finals.
After being relegated following Grandmasters 2020 Season 2, Warma’s victory at Masters Tour Jönköping not only won him a spot in Season 2 last year but also defended his promotion back into Grandmasters 2021 Season 1. He carried on the string of Masters Tour wins by French players, taking the top honor at Masters Tour Jönköping, the fourth Masters Tour top win by a French player, following Felkeine and xBlyzes’ two Masters Tour wins.
